A Procedural Building Generator Made in UE5
The author has also revealed how the generator was created.
A Reddit user and Unreal Engine enthusiast has demonstrated a cool generator that can create a variety of city houses and buildings. The generator is fully procedural and was made using the recently-released Unreal Engine 5.
According to the artist, the generator "makes a grid, with or without noise, and can be visualized with splines. Then a brute force algorithm in order to populate the grid with splines given a min/max length from the user. After that, an offset is applied to give the buildings a thickness. And finally to make sure the meshes fit perfectly the perimeter of the building has to be exactly divisible with X meshes so a Circle-Circle Intersection formula is used for the final point." The curbs and roofs, the artist commented are made with just two procedural meshes.
