PS4 emulator RPCSX became the first ever PS4 emulator to boot Bloodborne.
On August 2, 2023, the developers of the RPCSX emulator shared that after a month of development, they have managed to boot Bloodborne on PC for the first time. Please note that the team managed to only boot the game, not play it. As of the beginning of August, the emulator is not capable of rendering graphics.
A YouTuber BrutalSam released a video showing the loading process of Bloodborne. What makes the booting impressive? The thing is that previous PS4 emulators were unable to deal with booting Bloodborne and other games. It is worth noting that the RPCSX team was able to achieve this in just one month.
When it comes to stats and numbers, the emulator is not crushing when booting the game, and the CPU and GPU are under 80% load.
The RPCSX team does not make any promises on whether the emulator will be able to run games in the future. Do you think they'll find a way to render Bloodborne and other PS4 games on PC?
