The project was made possible by the recently-released Unreal Engine 5.1 Preview.
Developer and Unreal Engine/Houdini enthusiast known as Hiroyan has unveiled an absolutely amazing project that showcases the capabilities of UE5's Nanite and Lumen in virtual reality. This time, the developer has created a realistic and highly detailed environment in VR using Megascans, Nanite for meshes, and Lumen for lighting.
According to the developer, the project runs at around 60 to 90 FPS powered by RTX 3090 and Ryzen 5700, and is connected to a Quest 2 headset using Air Link. The creator stated that a similar project could be created by anyone thanks to the recently-released Unreal Engine 5.1 Preview, which adds VR support to the engine's Nanite and Lumen features.
