A Scene From Suzume no Tojimari Recreated in Fortnite With UEFN

The environment was created by a high-school student creator and can be accessed via Fortnite.

NEIGHBOR, a Japanese production studio that specializes primarily in recreating real-life locations in Fortnite, has recently shared a look at the incredible Fortnite-powered scene inspired by Suzume no Tojimari, a 2022 animated feature film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, the creator of such titles as 5 Centimeters per Second, Weathering with You, and Your Name.

According to the studio, the project was created in an official collaboration with the production company behind the animated movie, with the entire production process behind the environment having been handled by a high-school student known as Yanosu.

The project's description states that the creator utilized Epic Games' Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), a neat toolset that brings some of Unreal Engine 5's capabilities directly into Fortnite, to set up the scene. What's more, the scene itself is accessible in Fortnite and can be visited by entering the code 9546-3215-5606.

Makoto Shinkai himself commented on the project, encouraging Yanosu to continue creating digital worlds:
