You can try to do the same, it might actually work.

The more we live, the more we see, that's what some people say. Recently, one user on Reddit shared an interesting case of how PlayStation gave them a refund for a game that was bought around 9 years ago and whose servers were closed recently.
The user explained that they purchased The Crew in 2015 but didn't play it much. Later, as most of us are aware, Ubisoft shut down The Crew's servers, leaving users without access to the game, which led to a wave of criticism of the company and disappointment from fans, who wanted to turn to the court.
So, it seems that you might actually receive a refund from PlayStation for The Crew games if you have a similar story. It also looks like if Sony starts refunding players, Ubisoft won't be sitting idle. I'm more than sure that PlayStation will address this issue to Ubisoft.
Speaking of shutting The Crew, Ross Scott, the creator of the Accursed Farms YouTube channel, recently started a campaign, which is aimed at ending the practice of publishers "destroying videogames" sometime after the release. Thus, Scott is trying to bring to justice all the publishers who seem to limit the costumer's rights.
