Activision Announced New Polish Studio Elsewhere Entertainment

The new studio is "exclusively focused on creating a new narrative-based and genre-defining AAA franchise."

While we are still mourning the four studios that were unexpectedly closed by Microsoft a week ago, Microsoft-owned Activision has now announced the formation of Elsewhere Entertainment, based in Poland and dedicated solely to creating a new narrative-driven and genre-defining AAA franchise.

"Built from the ground up, Elsewhere Entertainment is a premier and standalone studio dedicated to establishing an environment that inspires bold and diverse ideas. The team’s underlying mission encourages everyone to explore and collaborate creatively to craft a franchise with an enduring legacy that resonates far beyond games.” read the official statement.

Elsewhere Entertainment is said to boost a talented team of storytelling professionals, many of whom have worked on celebrated titles such as The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, Destiny, Tom Clancy’s The Division, and Far Cry.

As the studio progresses and amplifies its production and development, it will leverage Activision’s vast resources and tools. Elsewhere is commencing its quest for leading talent worldwide to assist in creating an advanced, next-gen gaming experience.

The studio's official LinkedIn page, which does not have a logo yet, shows that they currently have between 2 and 10 employees. We notice that some people have already updated their profiles to show they're working for Elsewhere, such as Principal Level Designer Mateusz P. and Game Director Michal Madej, who has been working in Activision since August 2018, and previously worked on Witcher 1 and Cyberpunk 2077 while at CD Projekt Red.
