Yesterday, we discussed that YouTube was reportedly slowing down PCs when users had an ad blocker enabled, according to numerous complaints from users. Many people thought that the fault might've also been on Google Chrome since the problem appeared in this particular browser and not only YouTube wasn't working properly.
According to the latest statement from AdBlock's developers, we should blame neither YouTube nor Google Chrome because the AdBlock extension itself had a problem.
The good news is that the developers have resolved a bug that caused YouTube and other websites to operate unstably. Update 3.22.1 with the fix will be released after being reviewed in the Chrome Web Store, which may take a few days.
Google also confirmed that the issues with YouTube in browsers with ad blockers are not the company's fault. This was in response to complaints from users, and Google emphasized that the problem is specifically related to the AdBlock extension, as it was.
