NVIDIA is providing its AI and RTX services to Covision Media – a startup that develops AI-based 3D scanners so that its customers can create digital twins of any product. The company is a member of NVIDIA Inception, a free program that provides access to the latest resources and technologies.
"Using Covision’s technology, customers can quickly create 3D scans and automatically preserve detailed textures, materials, colors, geometry, and more to make images look as realistic as possible."
The firm is also using NVIDIA's NeRF tech that turns 2D images into 3D objects to increase the quality of 3D models.
Among the first to use Covision Media’s 3D scanning technology are Adidas and its partner NUREG. It helped the company's Virtual Try-On feature, which allows customers to virtually try on shoes.
Covision has helped Adidas "take a quantum step forward in quality while maintaining its scaled scanning production."
"Without NVIDIA RTX GPUs, it would simply not be possible to achieve the level of accuracy and performance that we need," said Dr. Burkhard Güssefeld, tech lead at Covision Media. "NVIDIA’s hardware and software capabilities are indispensable in pushing the boundaries of our technology."

Using Covision's technology, you can relight your 3D models and adjust the lighting in the scene in general. You can also merge partial scans together to build a 360-degree scan of the product, which can then be used in XR environments.
Covision and NUREG also work with The Kow Company, which provides image and video editing for companies, to handle post-production workflows.
