Moonshake3D has a fascinating project in the works.
Back in February, we featured a unique pair of headphones with wires wrapped around the casing by Moonshake3D, who is now developing an X-ray-style shader and has tested it on those headphones.
The artist wants it to be adjustable and render quickly, so he's working on a Blender file with all the settings pre-configured, including controls for the X-ray effect. The scanlines, however, aren't part of the shader, they were added later in DaVinci Resolve. Don't worry, Moonshake3D plans to release it once it's ready.
Check out the follow-up post to learn more about this X-ray project and how adjustable it can be. You can view the entire model at once or render "slices" of it, similar to an MRI. The controls are conveniently set up as sliders within the file.
