Previous versions
Adobe has released After Effects 23.4, which brings several interesting features, including the Properties panel and Effect Manager.
The new Properties panel is now officially in the stable release, allowing you to quickly access the important properties of selected Text and Shape layers in the timeline without opening multiple layer hierarchies.
A new Effect Manager will help you see issues after the app crashes. It shows you what caused the problem and lets you continue as-is or disable the offending effects. You can also use the Manage Effects under the Effects menu to view a list of all your installed effects and disable any effects on the next startup.
Additionally, the Startup & Repair panel hidden under Preferences also provides troubleshooting options, such as Start in Safe Mode, Empty All Caches, and Reset All Preferences To Defaults.
Other changes include:
- Improved file sorting in the Project panel
- 3D Gizmo position snapping
- Revamped Track Matte pick whip icon
- Support for the footage shot on Sony VENICE 2 V2.00 and on iPhones in Cinematic mode
The beta version of the software allows you to extract cameras and lights from GLB and GLTF models in composition, with After Effects automatically creating new camera and light layers.
