Adorable Shaggy 3D Rat Made for Short Movie

You can't watch the film yet, but Matteo Durand showed a little sneak peek.

Take a look at this adorable little rat, which has probably seen its fair share of trouble, created by Matteo Durand for a short movie called "Trash." The artist was responsible for texturing, shading, and grooming the 3D animal, combining several workflows to achieve a "rougher, more textured look" to match the artistic direction of the film.

"This project was a real challenge in balancing realism with the stylized nature of the artistic direction. I'm particularly proud of the crunchy texture I achieved through a mix of techniques, which gave the character a raw yet believable look," Durand said.

If this tiny creature piqued your interest, I'll have to disappoint you: according to the artist, the movie is still in festival competition, so you can't watch it at the moment.

However, you can visit Durand's profile on LinkedIn to see more. Also, join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on InstagramTwitterLinkedInTelegramTikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
