Watching sports can be pretty boring if there is no commentator to explain what's happening and boost your excitement. Can you make your own personal narrator for any game you want? Gonzalo Espinoza Graham proves that you can.
He passed every frame of a soccer match video to ChatGPT, asked it to add narration, and then fed the result to a text-to-speech (TTS) tool. In the end, we have decent commentary generated by AI.
But you know what it is lacking? One of the upbeat voices from THE FINALS, also created by AI. Graham's experiment is fun, but the AI could try a little harder to reflect the anticipation and excitement a real person feels.
Inspired by the video, other creators shared their AI-made commentary, and it's still impressive, even though it needs a human touch here and there.
