AI-Powered News Anchor From South Korea Can Work 24/7

MBN is the first broadcaster in the country to implement an AI anchor.

The job of a news anchor has been automated with the help of AI in South Korea. Korea JoongAng Daily reports that South Korean cable channel MBN is the first broadcaster in the country to use AI tech for news.

MBN decided to turn the team's anchor Kim Ju-ha into an AI character that can be fully controlled. The new AI anchor is almost identical to the human version, and the best thing is that it can work 24/7.

"I was created through deep learning 10 hours of video of Kim Ju-ha, learning the details of her voice, the way she talks, facial expressions, the way her lips move, and the way she moves her body," said the AI anchor. "I am able to report news exactly the way that anchor Kim Ju-ha would."

MBN believes that the new tech will let them deliver quick news in times of emergency for 24 hours non-stop. You can learn more here
