Aim With Your Game Boy Like A Scope In This Screenbound Update

Crescent Moon Games showcased a new feature in their Unity-powered handheld retro game console nostalgic game called Screenbound, where you play a 2D platformer on your Game Boy while also going through the same level in 3D.

If you're searching for a fresh-looking action-heavy new game to look forward to, check out Screenbound, a "5D platformer" about being distracted while fully in control. This shouldn't be difficult if you're used to being glued to your phone screen or ever owned a Nintendo DS, either way, this is a great way to experience the dual-screen nostalgia and explore multitasking diegetic interface game mechanics.

In Screenbound, the 3D world is generated by a 2D level editor. As shown in demo clips, you're playing in first person, while the enemies only appear on the Game Boy's screen inside the game.

A lot has changed since the last time we introduced this game back in January. The developers continued to polish the concept by updating controls, adding new enemies, VFX effects, door transitions, and other things. Recently, they showcased a fun update, allowing players to zoom in on enemies, making it easier to aim, almost turning the Game Boy into a rifle scope.

Take a look at some other new game improvements shared by Crescent Moon Games:

While the game is still in the early stages of development as there's no known date of release or available platforms, we highly encourage you to check out the game's X/Twitter page to keep track of the game's progress and new features. The developers often share new updates and gameplay ideas, and reply to others' suggestions.

In this tutorial, you will be going over on how to create 4 very different materials from scratch in SD. The goal of these courses is to teach you a solid workflow that we also use in the AAA game industry.
