AION 2 Is Going Global Later This Year
NCSoft will launch servers in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan.
"Your saga takes flight," says a new trailer for AION 2, a sequel to the well-known Korean MMORPG, and the slogan drops you right in the good old days of enjoying the heights, using giant wings for transportation – one of the game's selling points.
And soon, parts of the world other than South Korea and Taiwan will be able to enjoy it: NCSoft announced AION 2's global launch, promising to bring game servers to North America, South America, Europe, and Japan later this year.
NCSoft
"AION 2 is set 200 years after the original title. Following the collapse of the Tower of Eternity, the Daevas, gradually losing their power, continue to wage war while struggling for survival under the oppression of Balaur. Now is the time to rebuild the world of the Daevas and shape its future."

At launch, the game will be available in English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Chinese (simplified and traditional).
You will finally be able to enjoy its massive world, "true flight across land and sky," character customization with deep cosmetic and dye systems, collectible pets, and faction-driven experiences.
NCSoft
AION 2 is powered by Unreal Engine 5 and offers a world 36 times larger than the original game's. "This is the only MMORPG where aerial combat is not a feature added to the world. It is the reason the world exists. Every region, every battlefield, every conflict was designed around the sky."
NCSoft
The game is free to play, but, as it usually is, it isn't really. There are two subscriptions in the live versions: one that unlocks some pretty useful features, like an auction house, and one meant for more hardcore players.
Needless to say, players are not happy with the situation. I wonder if NC introduces something for the global launch to hide its dark intentions (but then again, it's NC we're talking about).
