Remedy Entertainment has issued a brief statement, announcing that Alan Wake 2, a highly-anticipated upcoming survival horror game and a sequel to the studio's original Alan Wake, has been slightly delayed and will be released in late October.
Shared via Twitter, the announcement states that Alan Wake 2 has been postponed just ten days and will now be released on October 27, instead of October 17, for PC via the Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. According to Remedy, the game was delayed simply because they have no intention to clash with October's other releases, which include Assassin's Creed Mirage, Forza Motorsport, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Lords of the Fallen, MGS: Master Collection Vol. 1, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
"An update from the Alan Wake 2 team: we're moving Alan Wake 2's launch from October 17 to October 27," reads the announcement. "October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games."
Earlier, Remedy revealed that Alan Wake 2 will be exclusively available as a digital release meaning that there won't be any physical editions of the game, including for consoles. The decision proved to be controversial, with many players saying that the digital-only release made them contemplate whether to skip the game altogether.
