The New York Videogame Critics Circle (NYVGCC) announced that Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment, received the Andrew Yoon Legend Award for the 14th annual New York Game Awards. The creator worked on games such as Max Payne, Alan Wake II, and Control. In a recent interview, the developer discussed the creation of Alan Wake, other Remedy's upcoming projects, and further plans, including the shared universe and games' cinematic adaptations.
Lake shared that winning such an award is a "huge honor." He said that during the previous year, Remedy was busy with Alan Wake II DLCs, Night Springs and The Lake House. The developer stated that now "Alan Wake II as a project is complete and done." Currently, the team works on other titles: Firebreak, Remedy's first co-op game, Control 2, and remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2.

The developer commented on the possible shared universe of Alan Wake and Control. He said that it's too early to speak about the endgame finale, but from his words, it seems that we can expect the intertwined details in the games' narratives. "I love tying these things together. I love making it deeper and expanding on the lore," he said.
At the same time, Lake underscores that every game "needs to be enjoyable on its own and stand on its own feet." However, the developer hinted at interesting interconnections between the games' stories: "For somebody playing their first Remedy game, they can continue in the universe and check out the other games as well and dive deeper into that rabbit hole."
