Alleged Prototype of the 2013 Outlast Appeared Online

It has differences in camera UI and animations in comparison with the final version of the game.

A video appeared online allegedly showcasing the 2013 Red Barrels' horror Outlast prototype.

A Reddit user who posted the supposed prototype stated that it has many differences from the final version of the game. They include, for instance, the camera UI, the run animations, and the sewers' layout. Also, there are no value animations.

In the comments, one of the users suggested that the video appeared online as a result of the data breach that Red Barrels experienced last month.

The first game in the Outlast franchise was released in 2013 and received huge commercial success, having sold over 4 million units by 2016. The following installments, Outlast 2 and The Outlast Trials, brought the series even larger popularity, as over 37 million people have played the game until now. Recently, Red Barrels announced that it would make a cinematic adaptation of the Outlast franchise in collaboration with Lionsgate.
