AMD Announced as Starfield's Exclusive Partner on PC

AMD and Bethesda have revealed that Starfield will be best experienced on a Ryzen processor and Radeon graphics card-equipped PC.

It was announced that the tech company AMD has become Starfield's official graphics and GPU partner. Todd Howard, Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, unveiled in the video presentation, "We have AMD engineers in our code base working on FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 image processing and upscaling and it looks incredible".

The benefits of such cooperation will improve the game's settings both on PC and Xbox consoles. Jack Huynh, Senior Vice President of its Computing and Graphics Group at AMD, added, "Making this game even more special, is the close collaboration between Bethesda and AMD to unlock the full potential of Starfield".

According to Huynh, the company is working hand-in-hand with Bethesda Game Studios to optimize Starfield for both Xbox and PC with Ryzen 7000 series processors and Radeon 7000 series graphics. The optimizations will accelerate performance and enhance the quality of the gameplay.

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda's director and executive producer Todd Howard shared the game's performance numbers, revealing that both Xbox Series X and S versions will be locked at 30 FPS – the announcement that players didn't meet warmly. However, Howard himself claimed that Starfield "looks great" on Xbox consoles, particularly on the Xbox Series S. Starfield launches on September 6 on PC and Xbox Series X and S.
