The new tech works on most GPUs.
AMD revealed its FidelityFX Super Resolution tech which is similar to Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS. The feature allows upsampling from a lower resolution and improving performance during demanding applications while maintaining image quality.
The project is a spatial upscaling technology that works on a frame-by-frame basis. Unlike DLSS, you don't need dedicated hardware (machine learning is now involved). The developer states that it works on most GPUs (AMD's RX 6000, 5000, 500, and Vega series). The tech can also be used with Nvidia GPUs starting with the 10-series.
Users can apply several setups: ultra quality, quality, balanced, and performance preset. Watch the full session to learn more about the new technology. You can also check out the official GitHub page.
