Frictional Games is busy with Amnesia: The Bunker at the moment, but apparently, this is not the only game baking at the studio.
In an interview with DualShockers, Creative Lead of the upcoming Amnesia Fredrik Olsson revealed that Frictional is currently working on a SOMA-like game.
"We are still very much interested in doing more SOMA-style stuff. He [Frictional Games co-founder Thomas Grip] is still very much working on a bigger project that you can say has much more of this kind of philosophical stuff like you saw in SOMA."
SOMA is a sci-fi horror game released in 2015. It takes place in an underwater research facility and explores the ideas of consciousness, free will, and artificial intelligence. The protagonist walks around the abandoned place and tries to discover its secrets.
Olsson also mentioned what players can expect from Frictional in the future:
"As for what the future will hold, if anything you’ll experience maybe more gameplay-focused experiences from us, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t also be doing cool, thought-provoking, and philosophical stories, because they can exist together. It doesn’t have to be a walking sim for it to have an intriguing story."
The SOMA-style game doesn't have a release date, but Amnesia: The Bunker will be available on May 16.
