2D/3D Illustrator and Animator A$AP BERG, who recently impressed us with a hypnotizing Sage Orb shader, continues the series of Valorant-inspired projects with an intricate full-body rig designed for the in-game model of Clove.
Set up in Blender, the showcased rig is described as "almost done" by the author, who plans to enhance it further with additional expression controls and shaders. A$AP also mentioned that the agent's face was rigged using only the software's built-in deformation bones, rather than relying on Rigify, an add-on commonly used by the artist. "I'm happy with how I've been able to recreate a complex face rig with constraints only," commented A$AP.
Speaking of add-ons, A$AP was also kind enough to provide a list of Blender plug-ins employed for the rig. "Easy Weights to help with some weight painting shortcuts, Rigify to automate some Python stuff, Bone Manager to help me organize bone layers/collections, and most recently the Rig UI add-on (paid) when converting stuff for Blender 4.0+," reads the list.
Previously, A$AP BERG also created a number of character rigs for Blender based on the game's agents. You can download them for free via the author's Gumroad page.
