An Update on the UE5-Powered Fan-Made Need for Speed Underground 2 Remaster

The team has upgraded 2Unreal5Underground's performance, game world, visuals, and more.

The development team behind 2Unreal5Underground, a fan-made Unreal Engine-powered remaster of the legendary 2004 Need for Speed: Underground 2, which started as a UE4 project but was eventually shifted to a newer version of the engine, has recently shared a new in-game demo, providing a huge update on the current state of the project.

In the demo's description, the devs listed all the improvements and new features that have been added to the game over the past few months, detailing 2Unreal5Underground's improved car performance, enhanced game world, upgraded post-processing, and more.

According to the notes, the game's cars are now much more stable and run way smoother, the aerodynamics, clutch, and suspension have all been adjusted to be more similar to the original game, and all of the upgrades (performance/visual), unlockables, and stages from NFS: U2 have been implemented.

2Unreal5Underground's world has also been upgraded, with the addition of traffic, pathnodes being layed out in the city core, and the implementation of the GPS pathfinding and a blue arrow that shows where you should drive.

Additionally, the team has improved the game's visuals, adjusting radial motion blur, adding a trailing effect to streetlight coronas, updating the game's headlights, and enhancing various particle effects.
