Apartment Complex of Nightmares Generated with Geometry Nodes

Architectural horror but weirdly mesmerizing.

Reddit user Dog61601 tested Blender's Geometry Nodes with their "mathematically perfect apartment complex", which would be torture to live in. Its procedural rooms can spread seemingly infinitely, and I hope it doesn't give architects the wrong idea.

As the creator explained, they used simulation nodes to extrude random faces on a cube a random number of times, with the seed changing every second.

"Turning that base mesh into a building is a bit more time consuming, as you have to make assets and textures and whatnot, and it just simply takes a lot of nodes to organize. The basic method there is just reading the edge angle of the face, which then tells you which instance to place on that point."

The sight of the building growing is slightly hypnotizing but might inspire you to try fleshing out your ideas in Blender, so check out the original post here and join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitterLinkedInTikTok, and Reddit, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
