Apple announced a new desktop computer Mac Studio with better performance that runs on the new powerful M1 Ultra chip.
Apart from the Apple announcement, SideFX has recently introduced a build of Houdini 19 which runs natively on Apple Silicon processors. It is a technical preview that provides early access for macOS users on Apple M1 hardware. Although it's not production-ready yet, artists can try it out and share their feedback or report bugs at the Apple Silicon forum.

Apple also claimed that the new M1 Ultra chip offers up to 8 times faster graphics than the original M1 chip and uses up to 65% less power than a 10-core x86 chip.
As for the new Mac Studio, it can be equipped with either an M1 Max or the new M1 Ultra chip. Apple claims that Mac Studio that runs on M1 Max is 50% faster than the 16-core Mac Pro and provides 3.4 times better graphics. With the M1 Ultra chip, the new device becomes 3.8 times faster than the 27-inch iMac and 60% faster than the Mac Pro with a 28-core Xeon processor.
