Are GIGABYTE's New Monitors' AI Tactical Features Cheating?

A recently resurfaced video from DaPoets has sparked debate.

Recently, tech reviewer DaPoets brought back his video from GIGABYTE's product showcase at Computex 2025 in Taiwan, focusing on the AI Tactical suite and sparking debate over whether it counts as cheating. Some commenters say all features outside the game are cheating, others argue that would mean every game would have to be capped at the same resolution and FPS for console and PC players to keep things "fair."

The highlight of the event was the new AORUS FO27Q5P, one of the first 500Hz OLED gaming monitors, alongside several other models. GIGABYTE has packed its new monitors with a variety of AI Tactical gaming functions, which include features that can dynamically adjust elements like crosshairs and black equalizer settings, designed to enhance your gaming experience.

By itself, there's nothing new here: black equalizer, for example, has existed on monitors for years and isn't generally considered cheating, the key difference with AI is that it can automatically target specific areas. Could these features now be going too far?

There are, of course, many aspects to consider, such as accessibility. GIGABYTE's new monitors can detect when a flashbang goes off, automatically adjusting screen brightness to maintain visual comfort and minimize distractions. Other features are simply quality-of-life improvements, like automatically switching to the most suitable display setting for your current use.

However, these monitors are designed specifically for competitive gamers. There have been instances where automation tools led to bans, for example, Valve banned Razer's Snap Tap in Counter-Strike, and Cronus Zen users, already a controversial subject, have faced suspensions and bans in Battlefield 6.

What's your take on AI enhancements like GIGABYTE's? Maybe you have a monitor like this, do you actually use these features?
