Additionally, the developer says the game will be its most supported title ever, assuring fans that it will be able to quickly address any issues and promising numerous content updates.
Arkane has dispelled rumors that its upcoming title, Redfall, will feature microtransactions and/or an in-game store.
In an interview with Wccftech, the game's creative director Harvey Smith shared that the studio tries "be very clear that there are no microtransactions and there is no store in the game." "We're very proud of that. If you find a costume in the game, then you can have it, as simple as that," he added.
The confirmation comes in response to allegations that Redfall would have microtransactions and an in-game store for cosmetics. These suggestions arose after images were leaked from a playtest in the second half of 2021, which clearly showed the existence of an in-game shop. However, it appears that Arkane, Bethesda, and/or Microsoft have since reconsidered this feature.
Speaking to Wccftech, Smith also added that Redfall is set to be Arkane's "most supported game post-launch." According to him, the studio came up with a server model that allows for constant updates to a game, enabling developers to address any kind of issues players can notice. Furthermore, Smith said Arkane has plans for additional content, such as new guns, costumes, monsters, and characters, that will either be included in the current game or released as DLC.
Earlier, Smith revealed that at one point, the studio was developing a PS5 version of Redfall. According to him, these plans got scrapped when Microsoft purchased Bethesda in 2021.
