Arnold 7.4.5 Is Out Now

The new line shader takes center stage in this release, complemented by other new features and workflow improvements.

This feature release improves the creation of stylized renders and various effects, accelerates volume rendering, and introduces numerous enhancements.

Arnold 7.4.5's new line shader allows lines to be rendered in multiple styles, producing geometric patterns or a brush-stroke-like look when combined with noise and textures. By linking line shaders together, you can generate hierarchical patterns.

The new nearest points shader samples point clouds from OpenVDB points files, or alternatively, from the vertices of points, curves, and polymesh nodes. The shader can return the number of points detected, the average distance, or the average value of a custom user-defined attribute from the sampled points.

Arnold 7.4.5 also includes support for mip-mapped OpenVDB files on CPU, optimized GPU volume rendering performance, updated OSL functions, and much more.
