As Twin Sails interactive, the company will now focus on creating original indie and AA experiences.
The French publisher of board games, card games, and role-playing games Asmodee Digital announced it has been rebranded as Twin Sails Interactive. Along with the name change, the company also revealed its new business strategy.
Initially, the company was mostly focused on board games and tabletop titles. However, since 2017, it has also been publishing digital versions of its board games including Gloomhaven, Terraforming Mars, and a number of Catan titles. Last year, it also acquired the digital board game platform Board Game Arena aiming to expand the platform and broaden the audience.
The evolution in the company's initial vision and its identity led to the change in branding as well. As Twin Sails Interactive, the company will now focus on "original experiences, combining indie and AA titles on premium platforms (PC and consoles)." The company also revealed that Asmodee Digital COO Nicolas Godement was appointed as Twin Sails Interactive's Managing Director.
"We aim to become a leading game publisher, which means 3 things to us: a great line-up of high
quality, creative titles; an amazing team of passionate game professionals; and a work environment
that feels both safe and fun," Godement said. "By limiting the number of releases per year, we are thus able to fully commit the relevant resources needed for the success of each project."
Along with the name change, Twin Sails announced two new titles – News Tower, a tycoon management game set in 1930s New York amidst a major economic and political crisis, and Amberial Dreams, 2D physics-based precision platformer developed by Lumorama.
