The latest title in the franchise, which topped the sales chart in the US for three consecutive weeks, is likely to receive a new port.
According to the rating information from PEGI, Assassin's Creed Shadows may be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
The official website of PEGI shows all of the "most searched games," with Ubisoft's latest AC game appearing in the first spot. It reads that the release platforms are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. But if you click on the title's card to visit its page, Switch 2 is not listed there — so it either has been hidden and leaked on the home page, or it was simply a rare mistake.
AC Shadows, released last August after two delays, had been launched to a great start, with Ubisoft gladly announcing that two million players had achieved this two days after the game's launch. The reception from critics was also "Generally Favorable" at this moment, rated at 81 from 92 critic reviews, despite the user score being "Mixed or Average" at 6.3.
Although Ubisoft didn't share the sales number of the game, according to the data provided by Mat Piscatella, a game industry analyst at Circana, for three consecutive weeks since its launch, Assassin's Creed Shadows was the best-selling game in the US, and by mid-April, it ranked second year-to-date, following only Monster Hunter: Wilds.
With the new generation of Switch set to be released in June, Ubisoft appears to be considering porting its recent games to the platform. Last week, the publisher announced that the second story pack of Star Wars Outlaws, A Pirate's Fortune, will be released this May and also confirmed that the game will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4.
