The update includes the ability to deploy Flame in the cloud via Amazon Web Services, improved Animation Channel Editor and UI, support for Python 3.9.7 and Apple M series devices, and more.

In case you missed it

Previous version

Autodesk released Flame 2023 – an update to its 3D compositing, visual effects, and finishing software.

The key change in the new version is the ability to deploy the products of the Flame Family, except for the color grading tool Lustre, in Amazon Web Services cloud.

Flame's Animation Editor UI has been overhauled to improve usability. Some views names have been changed: Channels is now Curves, Tracks is now Dope Sheet. Also, some functions and canvas framing options are now grouped under a single button. You can find the detailed list of improvements here.

Additionally, there is now an HDR mode allowing users to "accurately view and manipulate vibrant, high-quality imagery."

Furthermore, Flame 2023 supports Apple M1 computers via Rosetta 2 and Rocky Linux as a replacement for CentOS 8.

Other changes include Flame using Python 3.9 instead of Python 3.7 and updated support for BMD RAW, RED R3D, and Sony RAW.
