It's reported that Obsidian Studios has transferred their upcoming fantasy RPG project, Avowed, to Unreal Engine 5.3, making it one of the first games to utilize the most recent version of Epic Games' engine.
This news was announced on Twitter by Windows Central's editor, Jez Corden, who confirmed that Obsidian had received technical support from Xbox Tech and The Coalition, known for developing Gears of War, for this transition.
The shift to Unreal Engine 5.3 promises to bring players an enhanced graphical experience along with support for advanced technology.

Obsidian has previously shared that Avowed won't be "a pure pacifist run," indicating a focus on combat within the game. In addition, the developers have confirmed that Avowed won't include a companion approval system, so companions won't leave due to incorrect decisions. However, players' choices will significantly influence character storylines, adding depth to the gameplay.

The game, despite being slated for release in autumn this year, will have its preview shown in roughly two weeks, on June 10th, one day after the Xbox Games Showcase, according to a report by Insider Gaming.
