This futuristic, sci-fi-looking visualization of controlling particle speed with fingers is a new gesture-based experiment presented by Multidisciplinary Artist Kat Zhang aka The Poet Engineer. She has been exploring latent spaces through hand movements, utilizing Torin Blankensmith's MediaPipe plug-in for Derivative's TouchDesigner, which supports face, hand, pose, and object tracking with multi-person face detection, object detection, and image segmentation/background removal.
