Balatro Hit 2M Milestone & a Free Major Update Coming in 2025

LocalThunk, who recently stipulated in their will ensuring Balatro never falls into gambling, released a teaser yesterday. As promised, today they've revealed the content of the teaser, while maintaining an element of suspense with two unrevealed secrets.

The first of the three cards flipped, with an announcement of a major gameplay update, which is free of charge and scheduled for 2025. The update is intended to "introduce new ideas and strategies to the game." This upcoming update serves as a token of gratitude to the devoted player community for their unwavering support and passion.

Alongside the update announcement came the exciting news that Balatro has reached the notable milestone of 2 million copies. The game hit the 1 million sales mark just one month after its debut, and sales have been on the rise ever since as more players fall in love with the game. 

But, there's more beyond the two exciting announcements. The developer has teased "two more surprises" set to drop later this summer. Could one of these surprises be the much-anticipated mobile version of the game? We'll have to wait and see when the other two cards on the board finally flip.
