Maintain your productivity.
Beloved roguelike deck builder Balatro will appear on mobile soon, as announced by its developer, LocalThunk.
The game will be available on the iOS App Store, Apple Arcade subscription, and Android's Google Play on September 26, costing about $10. "Productivity be damned," said the developer, as the addictive game already caused PC and console players to spend hundreds of hours flipping its cards. Don't get too carried away while playing it on the phone, as swiping the cards on the touch screen can create a surprisingly realistic card game experience.
Balatro was released this February and instantly became a hit, reaching one million sales just one month after its launch. Recently, Balatro's dev announced a major gameplay update, which is scheduled for 2025 and will "introduce new ideas and strategies to the game," and noted that the game has already hit two million sales. The dev also teased the fans that two more surprises were coming this summer, and there were speculations that one might be a highly anticipated mobile version of the game.
One of the surprise exciting announcements was the Friends with Jimbo update, while the other remained undisclosed. So, the release of the mobile version was probably another intriguing piece of news, and it definitely didn't fail to meet our expectations.
The game was released less than a year ago but has already "participated" in the ongoing challenge of running Doom on different devices and software, as the legendary shooter was transferred onto Balatro's cards.
