Baldur's Gate 2 Will Reportedly Get Remade
Rejoyce, Bhaalspawn!
BioWare
The days of Baldur's Gate 3 hype might have passed, but don't despair! Rumor has it that a Baldur's Gate 2 remake is in the works.
PC Gamer's sources say that designer Kevin Martens, who's worked on Baldur's Gate 2, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights, Mass Effect, and Diablo 3, has returned to recreate the Wizards of the Coast/BioWare universe.
PC Gamer suspects that the first game will also be remade, which makes more sense than just revamping the middle one. Honestly, if it's true, it's great news. I'm sure that BG3 inspired many players to check out the original titles, and let's just say they haven't aged all that well in many aspects (especially that walking speed, which will haunt me in my nightmares).
A remake is a fantastic opportunity to attract more people and keep the franchise relevant before the release of Baldur's Gate 4, whenever it might be.
Hopefully, the new version will shake the game up a bit and make it a little easier to play.
