It's called shadowboxing and it gets the job done.
Baldur's Gate 3 speedrunners are extremely competitive as it turns out. While I was writing about one curious world record, another one came out, beating the previous one by seconds. But what makes them so unusual is the way these players treat their companions.
When the race for the best time started, player Mae finished the game in 10 minutes. Sounds impressive, especially for a game that requires hundreds of hours to complete. But this is child's play now when the world record is 3 minutes and 50 seconds (set by Mae once again about an hour ago by the way).

What makes this and the previous champion's runs interesting is how they use Shadowheart to jump to the end. A new trend is to kill her, stick her into a box, set it on fire, and launch it to Act 2's final location where Gale can self-destruct.
Naturally, there are some bugs at play. Mae explains it this way:
"Firstly, there is a bug that we call a container nodefling. By dragging a container that has an open/close animation to an invalid position, opening/closing the container, and then attempting to move the container during that animation, the container will be "flung" to the invalid position. Absolutely none of the usual checks to make sure if an item can be moved are taken into account, and items will be launched ANYWHERE. That includes through walls and across the entire map."
So the lit box with Shadowheart's body is launched with so much speed that it looks like it is teleported. The box then breaks under the fire damage and releases the cleric, who triggers the final cutscene. As she is dead, Gale is the one to participate in the scene even though he is not in the area. Then he blows everyone up, and it's done. Gruesome but effective.

I'm sure there will be others with a better time soon but I also know Mae will find a way to get back at them. I'm surprisingly invested in this.
