Bandai Namco Job Listing Suggests Little Nightmares 3 Might Be in the Works

According to a recent job listing by Bandai Namco, the Little Nightmares game series may be getting a third installment.

Bandai Namco is seemingly working on a third installment of the Little Nightmares series, which may be titled Little Nightmares 3.

It's worth noting that in December 2019, Tarsier Studios, the developer of the popular puzzle-platform horror adventure, was acquired by the Embracer Group. At the time of the acquisition, Little Nightmares II was still being developed under the publishing of Bandai Namco.

However, after the sequel's release in 2021, Tarsier Studios parted ways with the franchise as Bandai Namco retained ownership of the Little Nightmares IP. This led to concerns about the future of the franchise as fans wondered whether Tarsier Studios would continue to be involved in its development within the Embracer Group.

Most recently, Bandai Namco posted a job listing on LinkedIn for the Producer Assistant position to work on the Little Nightmares IP, apparently showing its intention to continue the series after the departure of Tarsier Studios. The listing implies that Bandai Namco Europe, based in Lyon, France, will take charge of the franchise's development.

Some of the duties of the new Producer Assistant will be to support the Little Nightmares Production team by reviewing the game on various platforms, conducting comparative playthroughs, and coordinating with QA. These tasks might suggest that the recruit will presumably be part of the team working on the upcoming third installment of the series.

Little Nightmares 2's ending hinted at the possibility of the third numbered title, and although the recent job postings didn't explicitly mention Little Nightmares 3, it's reasonable to assume that Bandai Namco is working in that direction. However, there's also a chance that the company might opt for a spinoff instead.

Earlier, Bandai Namco shared an update on the Little Nightmares franchise revealing that the sales of the horror game series had surpassed 12 million units across PC and console platforms.
