Ali Khoshnazar can enjoy the 2D-like asset from any angle.
Halloween has passed, but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy creepy pumpkins, especially as well-made as this one by Ali Khoshnazar. It looks like a true 2D painting, but no, it was created using Blender.
"I’ve always wanted to dive deeper into texture painting, so I picked a 2D artwork as a strong reference to guide the whole process. The original piece is by Egor Kapustin, who kindly allowed me to create a 3D version and a YT video about the process. It turned into a really great experience for me."
The lighting further makes the pumpkin shots resemble separate drawings, but the artist has a helpful making-of video, which you can follow to make your own painterly assets or learn new tricks.
