Become a Hollywood Top Dog in This 1920s-Inspired Strategy Game
The creators of This Is The Police have announced their new title – Hollywood Animal.
Weappy Studio, an indie game development team known as the creators of This Is The Police duology, has officially announced its new title currently in the making. Check out Hollywood Animal, an atmospheric game set in the 1920s that combines strategy and city-building mechanics, allowing you to step into the shoes of a major Hollywood studio head and construct your own studio according to your preferences.
Unlike many similar strategy games, where success typically hinges on a single path, Hollywood Animal provides numerous avenues for you to customize your studio according to your unique vision. Whether you aim to replicate the 1920s version of Marvel Studios, churning out formulaic and repetitive blockbusters that rake in millions, or play as A24 and cater to haughty elitists with "refined taste", the game has you covered.
The game also requires you to address problems such as wars, social unrest, censorship, corruption, strained relations with authorities, and criminal disputes. Depending on your decisions, these challenges can either jeopardize your studio or propel it to success. As the developers have noted, "There are no magic formulas in Hollywood Animal, only those who can adapt and negotiate survive."
"Hollywood Animal includes you in every step of the filmmaking process, from making up plots to theater distribution, and each part of the game is crafted with artistry and dedication. But the opportunities you'll have are much wider than what you'd usually expect from a tycoon strategy game. Every business has a dark side. You can follow the law — or stay on the mayor's good side. You can raise the screenwriter's salary — or remind him about the prostitute he strangled, which you yourself had hushed up. You can delay a film's release to avoid competition — or ask your friends in the mafia to clear the whole calendar."
