Bethesda Is Overhauling Its Engine For Starfield & TES 6

Bethesda's upcoming huge game projects will come with an upgraded game engine.

Starfield, an upcoming epic game from Bethesda, will be powered by a significantly more advanced game engine, the team revealed.

The news was shared as a follow-up to Bethesda's acquisition by Microsoft. The team's Todd Howard said that the deal to their "largest engine overhaul since Oblivion, with all new technologies powering our first new IP in 25 years, Starfield, as well as The Elder Scrolls 6."

Little is known about Starfield, but it's Bethesda's first new IP in nearly 25 years that is described as an RPG set in space. Howard also noted that The Elder Scrolls 6 will also take advantage of the upgraded engine.

What do you expect from the new engine? One thing we'd certainly like to see is more epic detailed landscapes with stunning effects.
