Bethesda Removed The Elder Scrolls: Legends from Steam

The game will be shut down next January.

Bethesda

The Elder Scrolls: Legends will be delisted from Steam and shut down as of the end of January 2025.

Players will not be able to enter the digital card game on January 30, 2025. Currently, The Elder Scrolls: Legends' Steam page already has a note that the game "is no longer available on the Steam store." Players who have the game on their PCs and mobiles can play it until the end of January.

Bethesda

Bethesda didn't release any announcement regarding the closure. Reportedly, players received an in-game message that reads: "The Elder Scrolls Legends servers will permanently shut down on January 30, 2025. From now until January 30, 2025, all items in the store and entry into in-game events will be available for one gold each, so you can enjoy all the content Legends has to offer. On that date, servers will be shut down and the game will be inaccessible. Thank you for playing and we hope you enjoyed your time in Legends."

The Elder Scrolls: Legends launched in 2017 but could never beat the popularity of another strategy card game, Hearthstone, and didn't manage to maintain a large player base. The game received its last update in 2019 when Bethesda paused its development "for the foreseeable future" and didn't ship an expansion that was already planned for the release.
