Bill Gates Says that AI Could Reduce a Work Week to 3 Days
As he previously said, AI won't take your job but you should be ready to adapt since it will "change it forever".

During a recent podcast with Trevor Noah, Bill Gates, the Co-founder of Microsoft and a billionaire philanthropist, was asked about the potential threat that AI could bring to humans, to be more accurate, to their jobs. Gates shared that it's possible that a day when people "don't have to work so hard" might eventually come.
"If you eventually get a society where you only have to work three days a week, that's probably OK," shared Gates.
Does it sound nice? Working less and getting more time for yourself, when "machines can make all the food and the stuff" and you don't have to work too much to make a living? I wish it were that simple.
While acknowledging the potential positive changes, Bill Gates has previously expressed some concerns about the potential risks associated with the misuse of artificial intelligence. In a previous post written in July, he extensively discussed the possible impact of AI and its implications for society.
"Also, keep in mind that this is not the first time a new technology has caused a big shift in the labor market. I don't think AI's impact will be as dramatic as the Industrial Revolution, but it certainly will be as big as the introduction of the PC. Word processing applications didn't do away with office work, but they changed it forever. Employers and employees had to adapt, and they did. The shift caused by AI will be a bumpy transition, but there is every reason to think we can reduce the disruption to people's lives and livelihoods," wrote Gates.
