The game also hit 2 million copies sold in its first week.

Electronic Arts and BioWare had a big launch for their game Anthem, which was considered one of their most expensive games. However, the title experienced a rapid decline in player numbers, resulting in EA never sharing any specific sales figures. Adding to that, the game was reportedly developed in a short span of just 15 months, as a former BioWare employee shared.

Here's another former EA employee, Alexandre Scriabine, whose LinkedIn profile was found by Twitter user Timur222. In Scriabine's profile, he disclosed that Anthem had sold two million units during its first week and ultimately reached a lifetime total of five million units sold.

The data provided is likely up-to-date as of mid-2021. Since then, Anthem may have gathered additional sales through discounted offers.

Upon its release, Anthem fell short of EA's expectations, which aimed for at least 6 million copies sold. Despite this, efforts were made to support and partially revamp the project. However, all plans for Anthem were eventually abandoned, allowing BioWare to shift its focus towards the development of Mass Effect and Dragon Age.

Speaking of EA, a few days ago we reported that the company was refreshing its logo and brand identity. The new logo introduced by EA showcases a smoother and more defined handprint shape, symbolizing "a platform for collaborative innovation."
