This update includes new Fusion titles and effects, better handling of interlaced media, USD scene export from compositions, added support for spatial photos and videos, and more.
The latest update to DaVinci Resolve, Blackmagic Design's flagship color grading, editing, and post-production software, builds on its major release, bringing a range of other improvements across various toolsets.
DaVinci Resolve 19.1 enhances the audio and video editing capabilities with new Fusion titles, effects, and generators in the Edit page's effects panel. It also introduces support for Apple's spatial photos and videos, along with encoding for MV HEVC spatial video.
Fusion received a new uExport tool to export USD scenes from compositions and a new uSwitch tool for toggling between inputs in a USD environment. Additionally, the Fusion page has been updated with a new OCIO Display tool, which allows users to apply custom OCIO display transforms and use OCIO CDL transforms for viewing LUTs.
Resolve FX users will also benefit from several new features, including a new grain control for the Resolve FX Sky Replacement effect, new saturation and gamma controls for the Resolve FX light rays, and the ability to set per-channel settings for blur effects. The Color page now has dedicated mini panel controls to edit custom curve control points, the ability to copy the active node stack layer from timeline clips, and the option to export stills with Dolby Vision tone mapping.
