Blender's Geometry Nodes Work Mixed With Grease Pencil
The toolset was used for one of Andry's upcoming illustrations.
Dédouze, a renowned 3D Blender Artist whose incredible Grease Pencil-made animations with both 2D and 3D elements inspire thousands of people every day, has recently shared a couple of behind-the-scenes demos, revealing that he experimented with Geometry Nodes and used the toolset for one of his upcoming works.
For those unaware, Geometry Nodes in Blender is a system for modifying the geometry of an object with node-based operations. It can be accessed by adding a Geometry Nodes Modifier. The artists can use Geometry Nodes to modify different types of geometry, including Meshes, Curves, Point Clouds, Volumes, and Instances.
As shown by Dédouze, the toolkit was leveraged for one of his WIP artworks to set up and customize stylized leaves. Additionally, the artist noted that most of the illustration is "still simple 3D and Grease Pencil", saying that the usual approach performs better on his computer. The final version of the illustration is set to be demonstrated later today, so we highly encourage you to visit the creator's Twitter page so as not to miss the reveal.

If you want to learn more about the artist's workflow, we highly encourage you to read our interview with Dédouze, where he explained how he deals with hand-drawn animations in Blender using Grease Pencil and other tools.
