The region is the 12th in the world for game revenues.
Newzoo presented the 2021 market forecast for the Brazilian games market at BIG Festival. The report notes that Brazil is the largest market within Latin America and 12th in the world when it comes to game revenues.
It is expected that the region will make $2.3 billion USD in revenue in 2021 (up 5.1% year-over-year). Mobile gaming generates 47% of the sum, console gaming makes 29%, and PC gaming generates 24%.
Newzoo noted that the mobile market drives the global gaming market because the hardware is becoming more sophisticated, plus global mobile/fixed broadband infrastructure is improving. The battle royale is the highest-grossing genre for the Brazilian game market.
