Browser-Based Tool For Creating Alpha Textures
Thomas "Pilgrim" Butters released Levels.
If you want a simpler alternative to opening Photoshop for creating alpha textures, Thomas "Pilgrim" Butters has shared a handy online tool. It's great for generating alpha masks, height or roughness maps, and stylised monochrome plates from photo references. Just drop in an image, adjust a black-and-white channel mix along with brightness/contrast and a levels curve, and apply a perspective or rectangular crop. You can then copy or download the result as a PNG.
Real-time preview is supported, with Spacebar held to compare the original image against the edited result, including any applied crop or perspective adjustments. There are plenty of shortcuts available to keep your workflow smooth. Inputs larger than 4096px on the long edge are automatically downscaled, with a notification to let you know.
