Buckshot Roulette Developer Announces His New Game

Mike Klubnika, the developer behind one of 2023's most acclaimed indie titles, Buckshot Roulette, has announced he's working on a new game, offering the first look at s.p.l.i.t, a narrative-driven horror game that immerses you in the role of a hacker.

Featuring a diegetic and immersive UI, an original soundtrack composed by Klubnika, and a grimy, eerie art style similar to Buckshot Roulette, the game tasks you with planning and executing a malware attack on a superstructure of unethical electronics, working alongside your fellow hackers.

At your disposal, you'll have an IRC chat to gather intel and learn more about the facility, a terminal to run software, navigate directories, and execute commands, as well as detailed command prompt hacking puzzles with an emphasis on traditional inputs, resulting in what seems to be one of the most immersive hacking simulators on the market.

"The daunting task is only made possible by careful planning, and vulnerabilities hidden deep below legacy code and engineering," the developer writes. "Regardless of the outcome, your story won't be told for decades. Will you hold up your end?"

At the moment, s.p.l.i.t does not have a set release date, with Klubnika only confirming that the game is "coming soon." However, the game's Steam page has already gone live, so you can add s.p.l.i.t to your wishlist by clicking this link.
