Customizable and upgradable mechs, alien planet, farming simulator, co-op, open-world, all in one.
Moving to a new planet and starting a life thereby farming necessary plants for survival sounds unlikely in real life, but you can definitely get that experience from Lightyear Frontier; what's better is you get help from a powerful, customizable mech.
You're living a peaceful life on this alien planet, with no stress coming from wars or combats, "Build, explore, plant crops, raise animals, gather and manage resources, meet neighbors, and make a place to call your own." Just roam around at your own pace in the first-person perspective inside the mech that can be painted various colors and equipped with different parts.
Of course, crops and animals are alien. The seeds are collected as you explore the planet, and carefully take care of them by watering and fertilizing them consistently. The harvest crops can be traded into credits for buildings and upgrade materials. Mysterious pollution, hazards, and invasive weeds might downgrade your homestead, so you'll need to clear them out with powerful tools. Your homestead will grow from basic structures to a fully-fledged, retro-futuristic farm with your care.
With the support of an online coop, you can also team up with three friends for this adventure, combining your resources to build the perfect exofarm and sharing the joy of a successful harvest together.

Since its Early Access launch around a year ago, Lightyear Frontier has received very positive reviews on Steam. However, the developers are considering implementing something to make the game more exciting. As they wrote in the Steam blog to synchronize the development status to the community for transparency, "The road ahead will address your feedback with a focus on giving you more power, freedom, and creativity on the Frontier."
They've teased that there will be a bigger world to explore, more strategy and power to the mech, making your homestead more homey, an overhauled modular building system to replace the current house constructs, and bigger and better farming, with them trying their best to deliver a big update in early summer.
